Cute and contemporary. Coffee from small producer in Vera Cruz. Sit down or take it to go from both Cuauhtémoc and Condesa locations. Espresso or brewed. Take your pick. Limited food items. Pan dulce and a few sandwiches. Our favorite quick-fix café in Cuauhtémoc.
Spin-off of popular market/restaurant, Delirio, with an “order and take it with you” format. Good coffee and accompaniments. Even better prices.
Amaya is a more casual version of chef Jair Tellez’s Meretoro in Condesa. Ambiance is pleasant. Service was good. But unlike the flawless execution on our recent visit to Merotoro, there were multiple errors in execution on the entree course we were served at Amaya.
Delirio is a versatile haven, catering to both extravagant cravings and simple desires with its blend of bistro charm and gourmet market convenience. Their mastery lies in effortlessly accessing top-tier ingredients, transforming them into intricate yet harmonious dishes like sandwiches and salads. Service at Delirio is a graceful ballet of hospitality, complementing the trendy ambiance that seamlessly fuses with the warmth of a cozy restaurant. In the realm of gastronomy, Delirio shines as a sanctuary where each dish tells a story of passion and precision, with their Turkey and Salami sandwich standing as a testament to culinary excellence.
It’s as cute as a button inside. Has a few tables out on the sidewalk to enjoy that beautiful Mexico City weather. They do the coffee right. 100% Oaxocan beans, with a mild roast but plenty of rich of flavor.
Service was top-notch with an army of waiters scurrying about on the terrace attending to every request. The WIFI worked flawlessly.
Pretty darn good breakfast. The coffee is good, although coffee aficionadas will be saying it just doesn’t compare to Chiquitito Café.
A comfortable ambiance, good service, and a creative menu put Hotel Carlota near the top of the list for upscale casual dining.
Gourmet quality food in a casual setting. Always busy and buzzing. Almost as good for people watching as it is for dining.
No need to spill that street taco on your Gucci loafers. Take it indoors to a fast casual dining room setting. Tacos, hauraches and other Mexican street fare with a variety of fresh condiments to pile on top. A meal for under US$5. A super value.
Fresh, local and unique ingredients, a fusion of Italian and Mexican influence, prepared and served in an an unassuming restaurant, is the calling card of Chef Elena Regadas. Don’t let the humble surroundings deceive you. Rosetta is top of the list for lunch or dinner in Mexico City’s Roma Norte.
Meroto’s minimalist, yet warm and inviting ambiance, superb execution of modern Mexican fusion, and first-class service deserve praise. The dark and murky appearance of most the dishes belies the beauty that lies beneath that dark shroud.
