Unlike La Mar and Aqui Est\u00e1 Coco, that offer seafood with a distinct Peruvian personality, the philosophy at Miraolas is to offer the widest variety of fresh seafood available, expertly prepared with only enough embellishment to enhance the natural beauty of the ingredients. And they do a splendid job with that approach.<\/p><p>There are two Miraolas locations, each within a long block of the other, and a bit of clarification is warranted since consumers have uploaded images of one location on the consumer site for the other location on the consumer review sites. The food and service are indistinguishable at the two locations. But the ambience and d\u00e9cor do differ somewhat. The original location, merely called Miraolas by the owners, is located at Avenida Vitacura 4171 in an old residential building. The dining rooms are the original rooms of the prior residence. So, there are several small rooms each with a handful of tables. The setting, although slightly formal with white tablecloths, has a rustic charm. The other location at Av Vitacura 3859 (esq. El Ma\u00f1io) is a large single dining area with an adjoining terrace separated by large plate-glass windows. That new location, given the moniker of El Ma\u00f1io, is more contemporary and less rustic than the original location.<\/p><p>We\u2019ve captioned images in the slider to clearly display the d\u00e9cor in each location.<\/p><p>The seafood is typically perfectly prepared. I\u2019ve never had either overcooked fish or shellfish, which is a common problem in other restaurants such as Ocean Pacific\u2019s where the cooks have the tendency to turn the seafood to either cardboard or rubber.<\/p><p>You won\u2019t likely experience that at Miraolas, and if you do, they will not hesitate to correct the error.<\/p><p>The possibilities are limitless at Miraolas. Fresh oysters. The best version of both clams and mussels au gratin in the city. Fish stews to die for. Octopus cooked perfectly. Not the least bit chewy. They also have a few fried dishes.
