Chileans love sandwiches. So much so, that if you asked a Santiago resident what the national food of Chile is, they'd likely respond by saying either the Completo (a hot dog with condiments, especially smashed avocado, piled high on top) or the Barros Luco (a grilled beef and melted cheese sandwich named for a past-president of the country).
