Wonderland Café

Wonderland Cafe is, if nothing else, unique. A couple of blocks off the main street running through Barrio Lastarria is this whimsical little café that has earned the top spot for cafés in this neighborhood. Located in a prior residential building the cafe is a myriad of nooks, crannies and cubby holes, each decorated in a quirky fashion with an Alice in Wonderland theme although the majority of the quirky décor has no apparent connection to the theme. The coffee is high-quality, prepared by baristas. The food menu is short but full of interesting items.

You can expect friendly service from the waitresses. Prices for some items seem a bit high for such a low-profile café.

But the only thing comparable in the Lastarria neighborhood is a little tea house call Milagritos which also deserves a visit.
