Matsuri

Japanese? Barely. But if you get over the lack authenticity and consider that your dining in a hotel restaurant, Matsuri is, perhaps better than acceptable … except for the price. The décor and ambience are nice although the lighting at the sushi bar was excessively bright. I suppose that’s mandatory in a hotel restaurant.

Available seafood for sushi and sashimi is limited. Salmon, tuna and not much more.

Execution of the touristy menu is acceptable, but not award-winning by any means.

The majority of diners are hotel guests and the place is rarely busy, making for a rather mundane dining experience.

And unfortunately, all this mediocrity comes with a very high price tag.

Matsuri is a pleasant. Not a bad restaurant. Just not a particularly good one.
