Han pasado 2 a\u00f1os y medio desde que entr\u00e9 por primera vez en la puerta principal de Mishiguene. Estaba un poco verde en ese momento. Creo que algunos clientes en el hotel contiguo y yo \u00e9ramos las \u00fanicas personas en el planeta que eran nuevas acerca del lugar. Pero el chef ten\u00eda una pasi\u00f3n por la comida deliciosa y \u00fanica y pose\u00eda habilidades aprendidas en el extranjero que lo colocaban en una clase superior al 99% de los chefs ejecutivos en Buenos Aires, la mayor\u00eda de los cuales son criados y entrenados localmente.<\/p>\n

Me llev\u00f3 un a\u00f1o y medio publicar una cr\u00edtica. Poco despu\u00e9s, Allie Lazar, la bloguera local y experta en restaurantes, se uni\u00f3 a la alabanza. Y pronto se corri\u00f3 la voz de que el chef Tom\u00e1s Kalika estaba haciendo cosas \u00fanicas y sabrosas en Mishiguene. Se convirti\u00f3 en un \u00e9xito entre los lugare\u00f1os en el exclusivo barrio de Palermo, donde se encuentra y las caracter\u00edsticas en los blogs gastron\u00f3micos internacionales y en el New York Times pronto sigui\u00f3.<\/p>\n

Pocos d\u00edas antes de nuestra actualizaci\u00f3n de la revisi\u00f3n previa de este restaurante, Mishiguene lleg\u00f3 a la mayor\u00eda de edad con su inclusi\u00f3n en el n. \u00b0 50 del publicista de Londres y la lista de William Reed de los 50 Mejores del Mundo para Am\u00e9rica Latina. Ese es un honor dudoso, teniendo en cuenta la merecida cr\u00edtica de la lista, y la mediocridad de muchos establecimientos que se ganan un lugar en esa lista. Pero es un honor, sin embargo, que traer\u00e1 un nuevo nivel de notoriedad a Mishiguene entre los comensales internacionales.<\/p>\n

Mishiguene ofrece una fusi\u00f3n \u00fanica de la cocina del Medio Oriente con ingredientes argentinos y un poco de personalidad argentina. Con la apertura de su segundo restaurante, Misiguene Fayer, al otro lado de la calle de la embajada de los Estados Unidos, los propietarios de Mishiguene y el joven Fayer han alcanzado la mayor\u00eda de edad.<\/p>\n

Hay una desventaja de esta popularidad y publicidad para el comensal. Ahora cuesta aproximadamente el doble de lo que cost\u00f3 hace dos a\u00f1os disfrutar de una comida en Mishiguene.<\/p>\n

Pero la comida es extraordinariamente \u00fanica y el servicio siempre atento.<\/p>\n

Los platos caracter\u00edsticos de Mishiguene son porciones abundantes de pastrami de carne ahumada y cordero. Esta es la comida de confort en su mejor momento. En mis dos primeras visitas en 2015, nos impresionaron m\u00e1s sus tomas \u00fanicas en los aperitivos tradicionales del Medio Oriente que con el cordero y la carne de vaca ahumados. Pero cuando visitamos Mishiguene hace dos a\u00f1os, hubo algunos lapsos de ejecuci\u00f3n. Nos sirvieron un aperitivo de pasteler\u00eda quemada (\"cigarro\") que nunca deber\u00eda haber dejado el pase. Esos tipos de contratiempos son pocos y distantes entre dos a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s. El chef Kalika aparentemente se ha vuelto un poco m\u00e1s h\u00e1bil y controla su brigada en la cocina desde entonces.<\/p>\n

Para los porte\u00f1os que buscan iniciarse en esta cocina \u00fanica, el men\u00fa del almuerzo es una gran oportunidad para probar las aguas. Para empezar, puede disfrutar de un plato lleno de ensaladas y platos fr\u00edos del Medio Oriente, incluidos viejos est\u00e1ndares como hummus, tabuleh y babaganush, y algunas ofrendas \u00fanicas que no encontrar\u00e1 en ning\u00fan otro lado. A eso le sigue cualquiera de los platillos principales del restaurante, incluyendo su famoso pastrami ahumado. Bebidas, vaso de cerveza o vino, y una taza de caf\u00e9 o t\u00e9 est\u00e1n incluidos en el precio de $ 20 ($ 380 ARS).<\/p>\n

Una vez que hayas probado todo en el men\u00fa de Mishiguene, camina unas cuadras hasta Fayer y experimenta una versi\u00f3n ligeramente diferente de la misma fabulosa cocina. Lea acerca de esa experiencia aqu\u00ed. O simplemente voltea una moneda para decidir cu\u00e1l visitar hoy. Ya sea que aterrice cara o cruz, ser\u00e1s el ganador.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
