In a Nutshell
Pizzería 1893 is the BA pizzería with a soul. And good pizza and other goodies too. One of the best pizza parlors in Buenos Aires. Probably the best for thin crust!

Pizzería 1893. What’s not to like about Pizzería 1893? It’s got a soul that shines like the little candles decking the tables in the evenings. Someone’s always having a big birthday party at Pizzería 1893. It’s just that type of place.
And there’s always a young couple in the corner holding hands. And just as often there’s an older couple in the corner, holding hands. It’s just that kind of place.
It’s not just pizza on the menu at 1893. They serve pasta dishes and other little Italian plates of food, including that classic Caprese salad you see in the slideshow.
The pizza’s a bit unique. It’s not even remotely Argentine. There are a variety of pizzas with a paper-thin crust that’s crisp and charred, yet still slightly elastic in the chew. Cooked over the flames. It was one of the first pizzas “a la parilla” in the city. I love the fresh ingredients. A sweet sugo pomodoro. They have a thicker crust, too. But it’s the same crust as the thinner one, much closer to authentic Neapolitan than the customary Argentine pizza.
Let’s just come out and say it. This is one of the most pleasant pizzerias in the city. A warm and inviting ambiance. Better than acceptable service. And your choice of variety of the city’s best-made pizzas.
It’s open for lunch, too. Tuesdays through Sundays.
