In a Nutshell

Hyatt’s Duhau Restaurante y Vinoteca delivers well-executed haute cuisine with near-flawless service in a luxurious ambiance. It’s, perhaps, the most upscale and formal dining option in Buenos Aires. Classy and sophisticated.

Duhau Restaurante y Vinoteca stands proudly as one of the trio of dining establishments nestled within the opulent Palacio Duhau, a Park Hyatt property situated in the prestigious Recoleta neighborhood of Buenos Aires. This grand hotel occupies an entire city block in the city's most esteemed enclave, boasting two distinct edifices: a historic mansion facing Avenida Alvear, erected in 1932 by a prosperous local luminary, and a contemporary tower overlooking Posadas Avenue, separated from the mansion by an enchanting terraced garden.

Hyatt has put two restaurants within the meticulously restored mansion. The first, aptly named The Salons of the Piano Nobile, graces two refurbished salons on the main floor, serving as the hotel’s location for breakfast and afternoon tea. The second, Duhau Restaurante y Vinoteca, nestled into the mansion's lower level, exudes an aura of refinement and sophistication, drawing in patrons primarily during the evening hours.

The ambiance of Duhau is one of refined elegance and tasteful simplicity. The interior boasts two dining rooms, each accommodating around 60 guests, overlooking a terrace where an additional 30 diners can enjoy the view of the terraced lawn descending towards the tower on Posadas Avenue.

Adorned with fabric-covered walls, vintage-print upholstered chairs, and tables draped in luxurious cotton cloths, the restaurant exudes understated luxury. Silver-plated saltshakers and sugar bowls grace the tables alongside white-cotton napkins, elegantly bound in silver napkin rings bearing the hotel's embossed logo.

Attentive and knowledgeable waitstaff, dressed in black vests and neckties, ensure impeccable service, with only minor delays in bill settlement noted during the visit.

The menu showcases an array of grilled steaks, including three cuts of Argentine Wagyu, alongside seafood, poultry, and select pasta and braised meat dishes.

While dining at Duhau comes with a premium price tag befitting its prestigious location, favorable exchange rates make it a compelling option for those seeking a taste of luxury in Buenos Aires.

Once again, Hyatt surpasses expectations with this exemplary dining establishment. While it may lack the frenetic energy that garners headlines, Duhau Restaurante y Vinoteca offers an unforgettable experience of haute cuisine and impeccable service in a setting of unrivaled splendor, solidifying its status as one of the city's premier upscale dining destinations.
