Leave it to a New Yorker to find a better use for a part of the chicken everyone was using to flavor stocks and soups or throwing away. There are a couple of conflicting stories about which bar or restaurant in Buffalo, New York, came up with the creation of a plate full of fried wings drenched in a spicy sauce that later came to be known as Buffalo wings. But one thing is not disputed. There’s no better plate of food to set on the coffee table between the sofa and television set during the finals of the World Cup or the Super Bowl.
