Maque has a pleasant ambiance. Great for people watching. And a young, friendly, and attentive staff. Good food with high-quality ingredients. Reasonable prices. Great for breakfast, brunch or dinner. But get there early or expect a wait.

El Califa, with stylish décor, some one-of-a-kind menu items, attentive service and consistently good execution of the core menu items, is perhaps the best choice in Mexico City in this casual dining taquería format. It’s hands-down, the best place to chow down in the wee-hours.

U.S. based steakhouse chain Capital Grille offers prime aged steaks, seafood and burgers. First-class service in a sophisticated ambience. The burger’s delicious but it’s twice the cost of many burgers in the city that are just as tasty.

Good traditional breakfast menu in an otherwise ordinary restaurant. Reasonable prices. Worth a visit if your close but not a trip across town. The Huevos Encamisados are a good choice for breakfast.

Cute and contemporary. Coffee from small producer in Vera Cruz. Sit down or take it to go from both Cuauhtémoc and Condesa locations. Espresso or brewed. Take your pick. Limited food items. Pan dulce and a few sandwiches. Our favorite quick-fix café in Cuauhtémoc.

A first-rate little restaurant with heart, soul, and good food specializing in food accompanied by raclette, a melted Swiss cheese. Chilaquiles with eggs and molletes for breakfast, sandwiches and salads.

Meroto’s minimalist, yet warm and inviting ambiance, superb execution of modern Mexican fusion, and first-class service deserve praise. The dark and murky appearance of most the dishes belies the beauty that lies beneath that dark shroud.
